THE LEAD:
A little more than a week after knocking off Pine Manor on the road, host Dean College duplicated the same result at home, posting a 3-0 win over the visiting Gators.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
Dean wasted little time racing out to a big lead in the opening frame as Kaitlyn Anderson(Clinton, Conn.) and Aminah Tsonga (Plainville, Conn.) combined for ten kills and the Bulldogs breezed to a 25-7 triumph.

Things started out the same way in the second set as the Cardinal and White scored the set's first eight points. The Gators rallied and after back-to-back errors by Dean, they were as close as 9-8. In the end, however, Dean pulled away getting the 25-13 win.

Pine Manor took their first lead of the match in the beginning of the third set and were in front 5-4 after an Alexa Leon (El Centro, Calif.) service ace.

The Gators were still in front at 10-8 when the Bulldogs scored seven straight points highlighted by kills from Anderson, Tsonga and Melanie Rios-Nevarez (Alta Vega, Puerto Rico) to take a 15-10 lead.

They would never relinquish that advantage on their way to the 25-18 set win as Paola Gonzalez (Southbridge, Mass.), Rios-Nevarez and Tsonga recorded kills to seal the victory.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
Anderson started off extremely hot and finished with a match-high 12 kills on .409 hitting, while Rios-Nevarez filled up the stat sheet with 20 assists, seven digs, seven service aces and four kills.

Viyanni Johnson (Aviano, Italy) had three kills and eight digs, while Leon finished with two kills and fifteen digs.

UP NEXT:
The Green and White return to action Saturday at 1:00PM for a tri-match with Becker and Newbury College.
