BUZZARDS BAY, Mass. --  Senior Ashley Whiteshield (Seward, Ak.) notched a triple-double effort of 29 set assists, 12 digs, 10 kills and seven service aces to lead Pine Manor to a 3-1 non-league college volleyball victory over Massachusetts Maritime by game scores of 25-19, 25-20, 20-25 and 25-18 in a match played Tuesday evening at the Clean Harbors Athletic Center.

 

Sophomore Viyanni Johnson (Aviano, Italy) added nine kills and nine digs in the triumph for the visiting Gators (4-10), who also received nine kills from sophomore Altimisa Cardoso (Boston, Mass.).  Sophomore Keisha Hadorn(Yokosuka, Japan) registered eight kills and a pair of service aces on the night for Pine Manor, which received 29 digs, five kills and five set assists from sophomore Alexa Leon (El Centro, Calif.).

 

Sophomore Marie Harrison (Weymouth, Mass.) recorded a double-double effort of a game-high 13 kills and 15 digs in the setback for the host Buccaneers (2-14), who received five set assists, four kills and a pair of digs from freshman Maddie Coughlin (Monroe, Conn.).  Sophomore Michelle Sheehan (Attleboro, Mass.) chipped in with 15 set assists, seven digs and two kills for Massachusetts Maritime, which received 16 digs from sophomore Tina Ruggeri (Bourne, Mass.) and 11 digs from senior Kaleigh Hoffman(Noblesville, Ind.).  Freshman Kaylee Tolman (East Sandwich, Mass.) posted eight digs, two service aces and a pair of kills for the hosts, who received five digs and two kills from freshman Casey Sullivan (Sagamore Beach, Mass.).

 

Massachusetts Maritime heads to North Dartmouth, Mass. on Thursday evening to take on UMass Dartmouth in a non-league match beginning at 6:00 p.m., while Pine Manor travels to Franklin, Mass. on Thursday evening for a non-league clash with Dean that begins at 7:00 p.m.
