Gators Split Opening Weekend

In their season opener the Pine Manor Gators posted a 2-2 versus intracity rival Emerson College on August 31. Oscar Uriel Roque (Santa Rosa CA) got the Gators on the board early. They widened their lead to a 2-0 spread on a goal from freshman Felipe Flores (Eagle Pass TX). The Gators carried the 2-0 lead into the half. Emerson would rally in the second as they got a goal from Gavin Faucette and a late goal from a late goal from Shane Bianthrow which forced overtime. After 2 scoreless OT periods the day ended in a tie. Angel Pena (Eagle Pass TX) made 6 saves for the Gators

It was a quick turnaround for the Gators after 110 minutes of soccer against Emerson the night previous as they squared off with Keene State on August 31

Keene jumped out to a quick 1-0 lead, however the Gators fought back and equalized with Henry Garcia (Burleson TX) knotting the score at 1. Despite being outshot the Gators hung in bringing the 1-1 tie into the 60th minute when Keene pulled ahead for good in a 2-1 victory. The Gators will return to action on September 4th when they travel to Anna Maria College.
