NEWTON, Mass. -- Pine Manor College men's soccer completed another pair of program first on Sunday afternoon, dropping a 9-0 decision to neighboring Lasell in the first road contest in program history as well as the first contest versus an NCAA Division III opponent.
Lasell (1-2-0), last season's Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) regular season champion and ECAC New England championship runner-up, scored a pair of goals in the first half before errupting for seven in the second half to earn their first win of the year.
Lasell junior Conor Fitzgerald (Marshfield, Mass.) scored the first goal of the contest and then added two more to open the second half, recording a hat-trick to lead all scorers.
Laser sophomore Caique Reginaldo (Quincy, Mass.) added a goal and two assists on second half goals from Newton Jordaoa (Hyannis, Mass.) and Ryan Montemurro (Meriden, Conn.), while Stephen Blood (Windsor, Conn.) also scored a pair of goals late in the second half. Nick Liquori (Westfield, Mass.) also found the net for Lasell.
PMC freshman goalkeeper Oscar Estrada (North Port, Fla.) made eight first half saves for the Gators, while Samuel Baugh (Abilene, Texas) also made eight saves in the second half of his collegiate debut.
Pine Manor will return to action on Friday afternoon when they travel to Southern Vermont for a 4:00 PM contest. Meanwhile, Lasell will host Brandeis on Tuesday afternoon at 4:00 PM.
